Case study interview with Cherry Willoughby, owner of Stockbridge Barn Farm near Sherborne Dorset.
Can you start by telling me a little about Stockbridge Farm Barn?
I always knew that the then cattle barn on our farm at Stockbridge was an ancient beauty. Then, 14 years ago, when our daughter chose to get married at home, the barn was the obvious choice. We started out faced with one light bulb and 100 year’s worth of cobwebs! These days the barn is arguably one of the finest of its kind in the country.
What challenges were you facing before you started working with Purplebox Digital?
While the barn is usually booked up well in advance, I could see that our website needed a bit of updating. It was proving hard to find someone reliable to make small updates, so we decided it was time to give the website a proper overhaul.
What kind of avenues did you explore to overcome those challenges?
I knew that we needed to find a reliable web design company to give the website a fresh look with new photos and layout. What do you think might have happened had you not found a solution?
The nature of our business means that it’s likely that bookings would remain strong with or without a new website, but it is important to keep our image fresh and so we are glad we have our new site.

Since our new site went live we have had a huge increase in the volume of enquires received as a direct result of our new website.
